This week, a friend at work said, "It’s hard to be superwoman when you have no super powers!" It made me laugh and struck me as profound at the same time. I wrote it down.
Another friend has a son with an enviable imagination. He is always a superhero in some form or other. Yesterday, she was wishing she could borrow some of his super powers. I actually think he got them from her!
There are days it seems that a prerequisite for being everything we need to be, would be having super powers. A wife, a mom, a grandma, an employee, a friend, a sister, a daughter, an artist, a caregiver, a teacher, a designer, a businesswoman, a volunteer. I’m sure you are adding things to the list that I am forgetting. Those are just the things that we are – that doesn’t even count the things that we do!
So, I’d like to know, what would your Super Hero outfit look like? What superpowers would you like to have? Would you be able to achieve every goal in a single bound, or would you be able to find rest in the midst of the storm? Would you be able to check off everything on your list or would you be able to put it all aside to spend time with someone who needs you? What does uncommon bravery really look like and will we be able to recognize it when we see it? Do we need x-ray vision or lightning fast speed to qualify as a superhero? Or, is being who we were meant to be, enough?
Just for fun, I’m going to try and take some time this weekend to sketch that out in my head, and maybe even on paper. In all fairness, I must confess, I have a bit of a head start. I am hooked into an outside Source that gives me inward strength. However, Super Woman, I am not!
Have a great weekend!
