I continue to receive emails and ideas from friends who participated in this meaningful little adventure. This weekend I thought I would share some of the pictures of things we gave away.
First of all, these are the 3 dolls that made 3 little girls very happy!
We gave away these packages of popcorn and a drink. Some had bottles of apple cider and some had Orange Crush. All the drinks had been donated to us!
This is the way we packaged the 4 piece boxes of chocolate. It is not the best photo, but gives you an idea of what they looked like.
In the busyness of the morning, I neglected to take additional pictures as people arrived with their offerings. One of the clever packaging ideas was from a friend who made cupcakes. She set each of them in a clear plastic cup (the shorter cocktail size), frosted them and then wrapped them in a clear bag. They looked beautiful and no one hesitated to take one!
Other gifts were magazines and children’s books to give away at laundromats or bus stops, coupons to leave with the corresponding item at a grocery store, 2 gallons of hot chocolate that we dispensed along the way and handmade cards with a note of encouragement and a package of hot chocolate inside.
These were the ingredients of the kits that each team had to use in case they needed them. A notepad and pen in case we wanted to leave notes of encouragement, (we also kept track of everywhere we went), ziploc bags and scotch tape, extra tags, $5.00 worth of quarters and some extra cash in case we saw a need that we wanted to help meet.
I hope this gets your wheels spinning and gives you some ideas of how you can encourage someone throughout your day!
